Another ONE STEP Is Being Taken

Just one short of a dozen.  Yeah.   Just eleven.  Perhaps not enough for some to bother with.

Not that many, really.  But ... this is a movement that strives to see just one person at a time.

Our part, in a global movement that embraces history since the beginning of time, may be a small part, but it is no less significant.

Meander through the New Testament and discover how frequently you will find the words "one of these."

People matter.  Not just the crowds, but each person.  So many are forgotten, rejected, abandoned, neglected.  The One Step Course treasures each one of these 11.

For the next 12 weeks ... 84 days ... we will be taking One Step with eleven young adults who have retained their freedom, but surrendered their independence in pursuit of knowing and following Jesus.

Prince and Kelci Mukisa
Next Generation Ministries is so fortunate to have Prince and Kelci Mukisa directing the 2018 One Step Course.  Joined together in marriage on the first day of this month, these two amazing young adults are proving to be fantastic leaders as they pour out their heart and soul into their effort to make disciples.

The first week is full of new things for the adventurers who have committed to mentoring that is focused on the establishment of their true identity, purpose, and vision.  After three days of orientation, team building, intimate worship, love as a family, and awesome teaching by Moses Mukisa, these eleven precious souls seem to have embraced the unknown in the confidence that God has their best interest in mind without compromising His.

The "one less than a dozen" came from Congo, various parts of Uganda, and the United States.  Meeting new people, living with new people, facing the unknown is all a part of the adventure of following Jesus.  The compound was pretty quiet the first day, but after living 24 hours together, the bonding, care, and love has increased to a phenomenal level.

During a brief time of reflecting on their three days orientation, to a person, all of these individuals with potential unknown, remarked that it was hard to imagine the renovation they would undergo in the next 12 weeks as they embrace the One Step Course.

The biggest sense of newness was the love each person is receiving and the experience of family as they have never known.  The leadership of One Step has been great at assisting each person enrolled to find their motivation for attending.  They have worked hard to produce a positive, yet provocative atmosphere for desired change.

The NGM leadership made no effort to fill beds this year.  They diligently sought the Lord for his choice of students.  It was their desire that each one who attended would be handpicked by the Lord for this year's One Step Course.

The soil of these 11 hearts are fertile.  The seed of God's Word is powerful.  The moisture and nutrition of God's Spirit is promising.  The harvest of just this one step promises to be 100 fold!

James Smith & Rebecca Hunter
In addition to Prince and Kelci, and the various facilitators who will come to teach and influence, the directors of NGM, Paul & Pam Hunter provide the family context for the mentoring course.  For greater impact, the One Steppers have the benefit of encouragement and council from the two peer mentors ... James Smith and Rebecca Hunter.
Immersed in an environment of encouragement, equipping, empowering, and releasing, these world changers will be agents of change in the world.  They will bring heaven to earth as they go ALL IN ...  following Jesus.

NGM appreciates the donors who help subsidize this One Step effort.  Without generosity these individuals would not be able to attend this life changing experience.

Continue to petition the Lord for these 11 young adults.  May each one of them come to that now-or-never moment of seeing Jesus FIRST.
