Lyzette Kasigwa Update

Imagination regarding the emotions felt by Jeff & Lyzette must fall short of reality.

What is of great help to both of them is the realization that God has raised up a team of people, 10,000 miles away in American, who are supporting them with prayer and donations.

Lyzette has been admitted to one of the finest medical facilities available in the capital city of Kampala ... International Hospital Kampala. Next Generation Ministries has an ongoing account with this facility, which allows bills to be paid monthly instead of up front before any medial attention will be given.

Today, Wednesday, Lyzette was examined and evaluated by her physician, Dr. Alex.

Another scan was performed and showed that the amniotic fluid has nearly totally reduced.  The baby has very little water around him.  However, the baby is alive and appears to have normal growth development with no abnormalities of his organs. His heart rate is also normal.

Dr. Alex has suggested that everything be done that can be done to keep Lyzette and Jeff's baby alive as long as possible.  He wants Lyzette to be keep from infections and as hydrated as much as possible ... plus total bed rest.

The doctor is hoping the baby stays alive for the next four to five weeks to make sure that he is six months old.  Then he will be taken by Cesarean and placed in the incubator.

Blood test will be done every morning to rule out infections.  Dr. Alex has told Lyzette that if any infection sets in he will have to terminate the pregnancy.  It would otherwise be too dangerous for her.

Lyzette and Jeff want to do as much as can be done, trusting the Lord to help their baby stay alive and her to be fine with no infection.

Today they worked to transfer Lyzette to a private room rather than share a semi-private room with three others who share one bathroom ... plus guests.  There is already a great risk of infection, so Dr. Alex recommended Lyzette be keep in a private room for the next four weeks.

As Lyzette said to me in a message this morning:

"That's the update for today.  The medical staff is doing all they can.  The rest is for God."

Please rep-post this update and encourage others to join Lyzette's team as together we advocate for the life and safety of both mother and baby.

  1. I am praying for you and your baby. That God will grant you both a long and healthy life to serve Him and bring Him much glory in the earth. I've been heartbroken since I heard what happened four years ago and pray earnestly that history does not repeat itself.Thank you Lord, that You know all, are in all, and hold all things together.
