HUGE Step Forward!

Believe it or not, Next Generation Ministries looks back on 2020 as a year of opportunity despite the severe challenges it brought due to the coronavirus pandemic.  The leadership remained flexible, adapting to accommodate the restrictions of the disease.  The result was a  HUGE step forward for the organization.  The focus was not on what couldn't be done but on what could be done.

Traveling to Uganda from America was impossible.  Paul and Pam Hunter, Directors of NGM, had to remain in the United States for the entire year.  Bad news?  Not really.  The staff took advantage of the opportunity to take more direct ownership of the vision to change Uganda one person at a time.  The admiration the Board of Directors had for the impact the staff made during the past challenging year lead to an acceleration of what had appeared to be a long-range goal.

It is with distinct pleasure that NGM announces the transition of Sylvia Subo from Administrator to Assistant Director effective January 1, 2021.

2021 promises to be another great year of advancement for NGM.  The staff is rested from their holiday break and are back to work.  At Sylvia's initiative, the staff spent their first day back to work in prayer.  Their work is not accomplished by blood, sweat, and tears alone.  Theirs is a partnership with God.  Without God's grace not much can be accomplished with the task He has given.  Someone has said, "When we work, we work.  When we pray God works."  Not only will the organization grow, but the staff members are committed to growing in their relationship with God as well as improving their work responsibilities.

During a visionary session, by video call this week between Paul and Sylvia, the following goals and dreams emerged.

Evangelism

Connecting people to Jesus is the primary goal

Love

By life and by lip the staff is committed

to love the people of Uganda on behalf of God

Medical

Continue to offer compassionate and competent medical care

for the poor and needy as well as providing training

in the areas of sanitation, hygiene, nutrition,

and the need for clean drinking water

MAP - Maternal Advocacy Program

The medical staff seeks to rescue

at-risk pregnant mothers and their babies

Education

Provide education opportunities for poor and orphaned children

as well as mentoring the children with necessary life skills

Income

Increase the capacity of self-sustaining income

through the tree and cash crop farms

Short term missions

Find a way when there seems to be no way

to host short term missionaries who desire to partner with NGM

Media

Develop an in-house media department

While moving aggressively forward with these goals and strategies, among others, NGM has never wavered from its foundation of relationships.  Relationships are what drive this organization, not projects.

Please continue to look for a way to be a part of Next Generation Ministries.  Please pray for Sylvia in her new role as well as the staff members as they attempt to do more with God's help and increase their impact.
